There is a “rule” floating around that when photographing models, you are not suppose to crop into the body part, especially the joint, because it looks like the model is an amputee. Ok, I can see where this holds some truth, but people make up these “rules” and don’t explain the HOW or the WHY. It all has to do with Edge Flicker and creating high contrast near the edges.
