A while back I read an article in The Drawing Magazine¬†(Summer Issue 2013) by Steven Weiss, an art teacher at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. His paintings and sculptures are surprisingly unique and have a sense of original style. The article is based on combining¬†old techniques with new ones. Something most of us might already be doing, or perhaps something you’ve been more curious about. Let’s take a quick look at the article, as well as some work where I’ve combined old and new techniques to get what I needed.
