A while back I read an article in The Drawing Magazine (Summer Issue 2013) by Steven Weiss, an art teacher at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. His paintings and sculptures are surprisingly unique and have a sense of original style. The article is based on combining old techniques with new ones. Something most of us might already be doing, or perhaps something you’ve been more curious about. Let’s take a quick look at the article, as well as some work where I’ve combined old and new techniques to get what I needed.
