Joachim Patinir created some amazing abstract landscape paintings which were clearly designed. Just by looking at one you should be able to tell that there is something sophisticated happening with the arrangement of objects. He also likes to use aerial perspective, fading the background to blue, to create depth. Pieter Bruegel the Elder and Hieronymus Bosch were surely inspired by him. So, let’s see how this Flemish painter incorporated design techniques into his masterpiece.
